24 teams from 21 companies, the largest number ever comparing to the previous four competitions, played in "J-Dream Cup 2011" of this year and the bad weather had been forecasted for the day this year, but it miraculously recovered and the competition ended with an earnest victory by “Hitachi Dream Team”, which had been just a step away from winning.
This year’s J-Dream Cup was the fifth anniversary tournament and this memorial tournament also acted as a charity tournament to support reconstruction after the Great East Japan Earthquake, by which Japan was swallowed in deep sorrow this March. And EUR 1,712.00- of the monetary donation raised through the charity lottery at this tournament and EUR 17,200.00- (EUR 7,000.00- from Special Sports) of the donation raised through the charity activity, which was launched by ”J-Dream” and our partner “RKAVIC” and had been carried out till this tournament just after the earthquakes, total EUR 18,912.00- were donated to the disaster areas in Japan through the Dutch Red Cross.
We are sure that it's all because of the understanding and cooperation of all participants. We are truly grateful to all of you.
The main purpose of "J-Dream Cup" is to promote communication between Japanese and local staff through a sports "Football". We are hoping that after this competition, people who played together as a team will deepen trusting relationships with each other and conversations will increase for reasons other than business, and which will brighten up the work site and make business run smoothly in your company.
"J-Dream Cup" will be held on the first Sunday of September annually in the future, so we reallyhope that all of you will remember this competition and participate in the next year's tournament too.
